SKIN
BENIGN SKIN CONDITIONS - MOLE/CYST/LIPOMA
Benign skin conditions, often referred to as lumps and bumps can be removed by simple surgical excision.
Main points of surgery:
- 30 minutes theatre time under local anaesthetic
- Walk in walk out same day procedure
- Dressing for 7-14 days
- Return to work after surgery (if appropriate)
- Resume normal activities once fully healed
SKIN CANCER / RECONSTRUCTION
The three main types of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma can be treated by excision and subsequent reconstruction using mainly either a flap or skin graft to reconstruct the defect left behind.
Main points of surgery:
- Varying theatre time depending on reconstruction required and may either be under local or general anaesthetic
- Surgery may be combined with a Consultant Dermatologist
SKIN TAGS
Multiple skin tags can be removed by a simple shave or excision.
Main points of surgery
- Multiple tags can be removed in one surgery under local anaesthetic
- Walk in walking out same day procedure
- Dressing for 7 days
- Resume normal activities once fully healed
SCAR REVISION
Following trauma, scars can become hypertrophic and result in a poor cosmetic appearance. Scar revision removes the old scar and replaces with a neater scar line.
Main points of surgery
- Up to 1 hour theatre under local anaesthetic
- Walk in walk out same day procedure
- Dressing 7-14 days
- Resume normal activities once fully healed
